Services

Our long-standing operational partner, Consolidated Asset Management Services, LLC (“CAMS”), has a 17-year working relationship with us and has more than 1,900 employees. CAMS has experience providing information technology, environmental health and safety, ESG, engineering, due diligence, and general operating services to the infrastructure sector, as well as relationships with an extensive network of equipment, services and software providers. ArcLight works with CAMS during diligence at the pre-acquisition stage through efficient transition and onboarding of assets, implementation of best practices and value creation plans, and ultimately facilitating seamless transfers to buyers of ArcLight Funds’ portfolio assets.

CAMS helped ArcLight perform detailed due diligence of the operating distributed solar asset portfolio acquired from Duke Energy as part of ArcLight Fund VII’s recent REC Solar investment. The exercise included a bottoms-up, independent projection of asset performance and O&M costs for over 160 individual projects, avoiding over-reliance on third parties without any “skin in the game.” Since acquisition, CAMS has taken over full O&M responsibilities for the portfolio.

ArcLight Market Analytics (“AMA”) is a propriety in-house team created in 2008. The team provides market and regulatory insights to evaluate risks, identify opportunities, and see through complexities across all types of assets in our Funds’ portfolio. AMA leads and self-originates hedging and bilateral contracting activities across our Funds’ portfolio, having assisted in the execution of over $5.8 billion in bilateral contracts with a 15+ year weighted average tenor.

AMA recently helped to originate a significant power purchase agreement amendment and extension for ArcLight Fund VII’s Griffith Energy power infrastructure investment in the U.S. Desert Southwest. Drawing on substantial commercial engagement with the load serving entities in the regional market over the last decade, AMA was able to help execute a contract enhancement that resulted in over $600 million of incremental contracted cash flow.

ArcLight Project and Risk Management (“APRM”), a propriety in-house team that has been active for over 13 years, oversees the engineering, construction, and development of maintenance and capital projects across a wide variety of assets in our portfolio. APRM’s mission is to help ensure that capital projects are executed on schedule and on budget. The team offers a full spectrum of services from initial front-end development and due diligence to management of the final construction. APRM has overseen over $10 billion of capital projects on behalf of ArcLight Funds.

APRM is leading the planning, EPC contracting, and construction management for the Yabucoa solar facility in Puerto Rico, a new renewable project being built pursuant to a 25-year power purchase agreement by ArcLight Fund VII’s Infinigen portfolio company. APRM has helped to navigate the implementation of critical power electronics componentry to enable the solar facility to integrate reliability with Puerto Rico’s fragile electric power grid.

ArcLight Development Services (“ADS”) was built out by ArcLight beginning in 2022 in direct response to the growing market opportunity to develop advantaged renewable, transformative, gas power and data center-related infrastructure, with a focus on leveraging the brownfield entitlements (e.g., real estate, grid interconnections, stakeholder relationships) that incumbent infrastructure assets have. ADS is led by a team that helped successfully implement a similar development strategy at Vistra Corp.

ADS is managing ArcLight Fund VII’s portfolio company, Elevate Renewables, and has successfully developed a pipeline of over 5 GWs of BESS projects across four different U.S. power markets. The ADS team has helped to put new BESS under long-term tolling agreements and is actively engaged with regulatory stakeholders to develop de-risked revenue frameworks for storage assets in premier, under-served markets that have strong policy support for BESS.  In May 2024, Elevate announced the commencement of construction of what will be to date the largest battery storage installation5 in New York City.

ArcLight Renewable Services (“ARS”) was formed by ArcLight to provide transformational management and operational best practices for ArcLight’s investments in wind and solar infrastructure. ARS is led by a group of experienced and tenured executives, complemented by an accomplished team of senior advisors and board members with deep experience across operations, commercial, development, and regulatory matters. Through the implementation of operational, technical, commercial, financial and redevelopment best practices, ARS prioritizes active risk mitigation, attractive long duration cash yield, and relentless focus executing on value-enhancing initiatives.

Through SkyVest Renewables, ARS is providing management services to the initial portfolio investment for ArcLight Fund VIII, Phoenix Renewables, a portfolio of operating renewable assets. Working with the ArcLight investment team, ARS has begun implementing a number of initial value-added initiatives, including a wind turbine availability improvement plan, the origination of new long-term contracts for power and renewable energy credits, and a forward sale of production tax credits.

In 2023, ArcLight Fund VII formed AlphaGen to manage and operate critical power infrastructure assets in an effort to help provide reliable, secure, safe, and sustainable sources of power and meet the growing infrastructure needs created by electrification. AlphaGen is led by a deeply experienced senior management team with a strong track record of strategic, operational, and commercial effectiveness to help create value and manage risk.  We believe AlphaGen, complemented by ArcLight’s deep internal experience, will drive substantial strategic, revenue, and cost synergies across our existing and future power portfolio and help the ArcLight funds capitalize on further opportunities created by the electrification and energy transition mega trends.

AlphaGen oversees the management of a number of the ArcLight funds’ power infrastructure portfolio and assets, collectively representing one of the largest power portfolios in the U.S.  The power infrastructure portfolio managed by AlphaGen includes low-cost, low-carbon assets that provide critical supply to key demand centers, with over 14,000 MW of power infrastructure across four RTO markets (PJM, NYISO, ISONE, and CAISO) via Eastern Generation, Generation Bridge, and Parkway Generation, amongst other ArcLight investments.
